Charles William Sanders was born March 26, 1945 in Greenwood, MS to the late Nathan Sanders and Pattie Mays Sanders. He graduated from Lester High in Memphis, TN. While attending Lester High School he met his future wife, Lee Alma Brown. They were married in November, 1964. On November 22, 2020, the Lord blessed this union for 56 years. Charles served as a deacon at Morning Star Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Upon moving to Lexington, TN, he fellowship with St. Paul and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church serving as a deacon under the leadership of Rev. Lonnie Black until his health began to fail him.
Charles retired from Auto Zone Distribution Center after 28 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shantell Lane.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Lee A. Sanders, daughter Jacquelin (Vic) Adair and son Charles (Stephanie) Sanders, Jr., 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother, James Shields of Memphis, TN, 2 sisters, Sammie Lee
Cage of Independence, KY and Freddie Shields of Olive Branch, MS; 2 sisters-in-law, Gertrude Brown and Ernestine Sanders of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to celebrate his home going.
