Mae was born March 26, 1939 to the late Evelina Patterson and Jesse Gillum.
She received her education in the Hardeman County School System. She worked for numerous years as a caregiver.
Mae accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Mt. Bethel Church and attended until she moved to Memphis where she then attended Greater Community Temple.
Mae married the late Wiley Donald, Jr. on August 15, 1953. To this union seven children was born.
Mae was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph Smith and Jimmy Gill; four children: Linda Harris, James Donald, Pauline Donald and Darlene Hopkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories three loving daughters: Sarah Warren, Peggie Stewart and Mary Mason; one sister: Mattie Talley; two brothers: David Gillum and Wilbert Featherstone; thirteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends and family members who will miss her dearly.
