Robert Lewis Harmon, Sr. was born on April 19, 1942 to the late Leon and Ora Lee Harmon. Robert passed away on the morning of Friday, January 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jerry Harmon and Sherman Harmon. Robert accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in his early 20s and was a loyal member of the Madison Street Church of Christ in Lexington, TN until his sickness. Robert graduated from Montgomery High School in 1960 and enlisted in the United States Army shortly after.
Robert was united in holy matrimony to Ruthie Mae Teague on August 11, 1964 and to this union five children were born. Robert was employed with Milan Arsenal for 10 years and thereafter worked at Leroy Somer for 27 years. In his leisure time, he was an avid fisherman before his health declined and enjoyed living his life quietly.
Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Ruthie Mae Harmon; his five children Patricia Harmon, Kevin Harmon, Ray (Angee) Harmon, Robert (Teresa) Harmon, Rochelle (David) Deberry; his brothers, Oscar (Edith) Harmon, Devon (Mary) Harmon, Harold (Christine) Harmon, Ricky (Dee) Harmon; his sisters, Ora Mae (Leon) Priddy, Rebecca Farmer, Mattie Tubbs, Della Smith; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
